OSHA STAR Site
The Edison Plant has earned the prestigious STAR status for its attention to safety. STAR sites are those recognized by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's Voluntary Protection Program for outstanding workplace safety performance and processes.
ISO 14001 Environmental Certification
We were the first in New Jersey—and the second in the United States—to achieve ISO 14001 certification. This internationally recognized standard for environmental management demonstrates our success at continuous improvement in environmental performance, including reductions in air emissions and waste generation.
Other Awards
The Edison Plant has earned accolades for safety performance from numerous organizations, including the New Jersey Manufacturers Association (Governor's Award and Beacon of Safety Award).
Like many other chemical facilities in New Jersey, the Edison Plant is subject to annual on-site audits by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection for process safety and emergency preparedness. We have successfully passed these multiday audits each year since they began in 1989.
