FAIRPORT HARBOR, Ohio – March 31, 2016 – The Fairport Harbor Plant of LyondellBasell, one of the world’s largest plastics, chemical and refining companies, recently announced donations totaling more than $10,000 to United Way of Lake County, Ohio as part of its completed 2015 campaign.
“We are committed to being a responsible, good neighbor in the communities where we operate,” said LyondellBasell CEO Bob Patel. “We are very proud of our efforts and the generosity of our employees in giving back to their communities through charitable giving and volunteer service.”
In 2015, LyondellBasell held United Way campaigns at 22 company sites across the U.S. and raised a total of $2.7 million. The money raised by the company’s campaign will benefit thousands of programs across the country that people in need rely upon.
“The support of companies like LyondellBasell is critical to United Way of Lake County’s mission of measurably improving the lives of our community members in need,” said Brandon Baker, United Way of Lake County campaign manager. “Strong allies help us battle poverty, hunger and other issues that affect Lake County. Thanks to the continued support of LyondellBasell employees in Fairport Harbor, we are well on our way to improving those results.”
In addition to supporting the United Way, in 2015 LyondellBasell Fairport Harbor employees and their families participated in Global Care Day, the company’s annual day of service, where they beautified the grounds of Fairport Harbor High School.
“Each year our employees go above and beyond to demonstrate their commitment to the United Way with their generous donations,” said Fairport Harbor Facility Site Manager Bradley Rosenberger. “Their contributions and support of the United Way makes a lasting impact on our community.”
