Our environmental management system is part of the European management system and is certified in accordance with ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. An independent certification agency verifies the annual Site Environmental Report.

Emissions Reduction
The Maasvlakte Site uses the latest technologies for emission control, noise abatement, water treatment and overall waste management. In fact, prevention and reduction of air and water emissions were key design goals for the facility.
Energy Efficiency
Our energy experts strive daily to improve our energy efficiency. The Maasvlakte plants were designed to be the most energy efficient ever constructed. Large-scale use of heat recovery and integration makes for an extremely efficient energy balance.
