The LyondellBasell Morris Plant produces Ethylene, Propylene, Polyethylene (Low Density and High Density), and Linear Low Density Polyethylene used to create a variety of products. Products include textiles, food packaging, home furnishings, automotive exteriors, medical products, and wire and cable coatings.
The Morris Plant is an integral part of the local economy. The plant provides good paying and stable jobs in which workers live and shop in the local area for goods and services. Property taxes paid by LyondellBasell help support the local schools and government services. The plant supports the community through donations to organizations such as We Care of Grundy County, Morris Hospital, local first responders, Morris YMCA and Joliet Junior College.
The safety of the community, operations and our employees is a primary focus. The Morris Plant aims for zero injuries, zero process safety incidents, zero product safety incidents, zero environmental incidents and zero plastic pellet loss to the environment. The LyondellBasell GoalZERO standards apply to all employees, contractors and suppliers performing work at the sites.
In honor of the 50 year anniversary celebration in Morris, the mayor declared November 5, 2019 as the LyondellBasell Morris Plant Day!
