When the administrative assistant at the LyondellBasell Clinton Complex received an email from Susan Sharp, Director of Ministry and Operations at the Salvation Army, she knew it would be a hard secret to keep.
“I was asked to help coordinate a surprise visit by Susan to volunteers with the Salvation Army 360 Life Center's Angel Award,” said Jessica Powell, Clinton Admin Assistant. “I had to get creative to invite employees to a meeting to keep the surprise, without their knowledge about why we were meeting.”
Joe Hoinkis, Site Manager accepted the Salvation Army 360 Life Center's Angel Award on behalf of LyondellBasell.
The award was presented for the support provided by supplying a team of 20 LYB employees earlier this year to help paint a train car near the Clinton County Historical Society that had been previously graffitied.
“We are truly honored to receive this recognition,” said Hoinkis. “As you know many of us work and live in Clinton County. This is our home and we are happy to help out where we can.”
